Andreas “DRE DAY” Johnson, best described as the “Life of da party,” has been creating an explosive atmosphere on the dance floor for over twenty years. Inspired by DJ Jazzy Jeff, Cosmic Kev, and DJ Cash Money, Johnson has created one of thee greatest footprints in the entertainment world.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Johnson’s career started out in the dance community. Along with learning from dance legends like Clyde Evans and Rennie Harris, Johnson was also the leader of legendary dance crew, Versatile, for 10 years. Comprised of 10 talented hip-hop dancers, Versatile went on to open up for artists such as Aliyah, 50 Cent, and Nina Sky. Versatile was a serious threat on the battle floor, taking home multiple awards. Among these are one award on BET’s “106th and Park”, and 3-time champions at “Showtime at the Apollo”.

After many years of dancing, Johnson’s focus switched to perfecting his DJ skills and music production. It didn’t take long before “DJ Dre-Day” had become a household name.

DJ Dre Day could be found anywhere from the hottest clubs in Philly, Atlantic City, L.A., and all over Arizona to opening up for artists like Chris Brown, P. Diddy, and Young Jeezy. He became in such high demand that Johnson even DJed at the 2011 NBA All Star Weekend and on the Foam N’ Glow Tour of 2012.

In 2011 Johnson also started his own entertainment company, City Boyz Nation LLC. Providing live entertainment and production, City Boyz DJs range from club residencies to private events such as weddings, proms, bar/bat mitzvahs, and corporate events. Having taught digital music production for 3 years at Villanova University summer camp for teens, Johnson thrives in educating others on how to hone their craft. City Boyz Nation is an inclusive environment with an “Everybody Wins” mentality: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work. In the more recent years City Boyz Nation has developed their brand by branching out into other avenues. Within the Nation is a team of photographers and videographers, a City Boyz clothing line, the City Boyz Music Group, and a work-in-progress documentary titled “Life of a DJ”. The City Boyz Music Group is geared towards helping other up-and-coming artists to perfect their artistry by providing them with masterful music production and engineering as well as a track created just for them. With a very “hands on” approach, Johnson can always be found in the studio working with artists on their next big hit, dedicated to helping them reach the Billboards.

Currently residing in Tucson, AZ, Andreas “Dre-Day” Johnson still travels all around the country working and is always open to new business ventures or creating new opportunities for his team.
